is on one of the largest tank battles in military history.

Known as the Battle of Prokahova,

it took place on the Eastern Front

and was fought on the 12th July,

1943.

It was part of the wider Battle of Kursk,

and it's said that two elite SS divisions were obliterated

and about 300 pansas were destroyed as the Red Army began to turn the tide on Hitler.

But as historian Ben Wheatley explains, there may be more to this story than meets the eye.
