Summary

While a growing cacophony of Christian voices reject the historicity of Adam and Eve, others argue that Adam and Eve were members of a species of apes on which God effected physical and spiritual renovations. And some contend that Adam was created mortal, such that he would have died even if he had not sinned. Incessant innovations riddle the evangelical landscape and on this episode of Hank Unplugged Hank discusses this very Adamic denial and distortion that he has written about in the current new edition of the Christian Research Journal that will be shipping very soon!

Hi, this is Hank Hennigraph, president of the Christian Research Institute

and host of the Bible Answerman broadcast with another Hank Unplugged.

Hank Unplugged is always committed to bring the most interesting, informative, and inspirational voices direct to your earbuds.

But on this particular Hank Unplugged, I want to deal with a transcendently important issue.

0:52.8

It's the issue that surrounds whether or not Adam and Eve really existed.

1:04.1

There are so many voices today that are denying this very reality. And as I have said, on many occasions, if Adam and Eve did not eat their forbidden fruit and then fall into a life of constant sin terminated by death, there's no need for redemption.

1:31.4

So this is a foundational issue.

1:37.1

So here's a couple of things I'm going to address in this Hank Unplugged podcast.

1:42.2

The first is that numerous evangelical voices are contending that the

1:51.6

historical reality of Adam and Eve has been as decisively refuted as the geocentric model of the solar system.

2:02.6

Secondly, there are those today who are saying that Adam was an ape, an ape on whom God affected physical and spiritual renovations, and that in a time frame

2:23.3

extending to, well, maybe as much as a million years ago.

2:29.3

And there's a third point.

2:32.3

I thought I would never in my lifetime ever hear anything like this.

2:40.0

The idea is now being publicly promoted in evangelical Christian circles that Adam was created mortal.

2:53.7

In other words, Adam would have died even if Adam had not sinned.

3:03.2

So let me begin with the first of those points.

3:08.8

Did Adam and Eve really exist to begin with?

3:14.2

Well, one would think that the answer to that question is obvious.

3:17.8

Of course they did.

3:20.4

Did not St. Paul make it crystal clear from one man God made every nation of men that they should inhabit the whole earth?

3:27.6

Moreover, as I mentioned earlier, if the first Adam hadn't fallen into a life of perpetual sin terminated by death,
