My name is John Kaby and this is our open spoiler discussion about the Batman.

We are here to talk about the new movie The Batman, which by the way the box office numbers

just came out. It far exceeded that one Forbes estimate at about $80 million. Instead it

made $128.5 million dollars opening weekend. $128.5 million dollars becoming the second biggest

opening of course as people as they expected it to be behind Spider-Man no way home. Of course

nobody thought it would come close to that. My initial guess was 150. I obviously over I

over obviously overestimated. That's why I said the show the other day. I think I'm probably wrong

about that 150 mark, but $128.5 million dollars opening weekend for the Batman, which is amazing.

We will be talking about that opening and some people in the live chat are very confused or

saying but wait that didn't count Sunday. Yes that does count Sunday, but how does it count Sunday?

It's still just Sunday now because when they put out their box office report on Sunday mornings,

early afternoon Sunday mornings. That includes they take them the amount it made on the Thursday

night Friday Saturday and they're able to very accurately predict what the Sunday numbers will

be and that's why the box office numbers that come out on Sunday do include Sunday. Now tomorrow

on Monday they'll adjust it for what are called the actuals and that'll go up you like half a

million dollars down half a million dollars one million dollars maybe not at all. But yes,

just so you guys know when they put out the box office numbers on Sundays, those do include Sundays

even though Sunday is still happening. It's just that it includes their estimate of what Sunday is

going to be and it's 99 percent of the time within about a million dollars. So those predictions

are actually pretty good. So and that's just domestic. Some people are asking if that's the global

number. No, no, that's just domestic. That's just a North American numbers that doesn't include the
