0:14.0	Just as the presidential election is truly hitting its final sprint,
0:18.0	Hillary Clinton gave a speech at an LGBT campaign fundraising event in New York City.
0:23.6	I should say for those of you who remember, this actually took place on the ninth and I just
0:28.3	wanted to make sure to get that date right, but it's not just what she said, but the reaction to it in the days and weeks after that is really the
0:35.6	interesting thing here. This was the speech in which Hillary Clinton remarked that, quote,
0:40.9	you could put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of
0:45.8	deplorables. Now she said a lot more before that line and a lot more after that line
0:51.2	but of course the context was generally lost, the soundbite was there.
0:56.8	It wasn't even that line that I read, which is like 12 words or whatever.
1:00.1	It was even shorter, right? Very quickly, it became of deplorables and then an even shorter version deplorables and the news cycle was that Clinton had referred to Trump's base as deplorable. Trump of course jumped all over this. Trump supporters began to own it and
1:14.1	call themselves the deplorables. As I recount this, isn't it lovely to just get thrown
