Another ho-hum affair, despite the efforts of the bullpen to put the game into the lost column, and we'll get to that in a little bit. But I make no apologies for calling that a whole home win, McCarthy,

because they've owned this Angels team. And they're now five and all against them this year.

They've scored at least eight runs in all five of those games. And if anything, what I do

need to apologize for is saying that the Angels were going to be better than the Red Sox going into the season. They stink. They stink just like every other team in the American League except for three. The reigning champion Houston Astros, the New York Yankees, and your Boston Red Sox. That's it. I don't care about the Indians because they look like they still need a lot of help. I don't think that the Seattle Mariners are going to be a real threat, even if they ended up having to play them in a one-game playoff. The Red Sox, they would put Chris Sale out there that dominate him or he would dominate him, and it's on to the next round. I think the league stinks. The league really stinks, save for those three teams. So I have a hard time taking a lot of these games seriously, especially when they go four hours last night.

And I know there's a lot to be happy about with this team through 81 games, and that's really where I want to start. We're at the official halfway mark of the season for the Red Sox. They are now 54 and 27 after last night's win. 81 games, Even a dummy like me can do that, Matt.
