but I'm sure many of you listening in don't know that there are six ballot proposals to vote on,

one that's statewide and five just for residents of New York City.

We're going to focus primarily in this conversation, though not solely, on the city ones.

It's those five proposals to change the city's charter, which is like the city's constitution,

that are stirring up controversy among city council members and progressive New Yorkers,
