and Well, welcome you to another episode of Purple Inside, a Matthew Collard here, along with

0:25.2

Arif Hassan, also known as Mr Consensus Board. Arif, can I ask you a question to start off?

0:32.0

Honestly, I have never used the word consensus board

0:35.8

so many times in my life, maybe not ever, until this year.

0:39.7

And then all of a sudden now I'm saying consensus board all the time.

0:43.4

And on the internet, they're saying consensus board all the time.

0:46.9

I think it's really interesting how your idea to grab all of these different mocks,

0:52.5

put them in a bucket, and then PFF to look at it

0:55.6

and say, oh my gosh, there's actually something here.

0:58.6

Yeah, really interesting because it's kind of changed the way we look at it because I think that before it was sort of like well I like this pick I don't like this pick what are you gonna do who knows who's right. Yeah. Yeah, and now there's actually a way of evaluating and saying, oh, so reaching on that guy was a problem.

1:16.7

I think it's cool to see.

1:18.7

Yeah, no, I think it's fun, especially because like you said, everybody has all of these different opinions on

1:24.0

draft prospects but you never really get a read on the like the temperature in the room right like a lot of people

1:29.4

like man I hate Trayvon Walker what an awful idea to pick him. And you have him ranked 8, right?

1:34.4

Which isn't to say that you don't hate the idea of picking him. I hated the idea of picking him first, right?

1:39.8

But it's, it puts everything like into a certain context, context right because you're not saying that you think

1:44.7

Trayvon Walker is going to be a bad. You've ranked a 8, right? You're not saying you could be a bad player, right? And having all of this information

1:51.8

together really gives us a good understanding of kind of where the draft community at large, you know, sits on on a number of players because you know things I found over the years is that, you know, hey, man, the draft community is like

2:03.4

bagging on Josh Allen. And yeah, they definitely got that one wrong. But it's not like they

2:07.5

didn't have them outside of the top 100, right? They had them as a second rounder, right?

2:12.6

So it gives us a lot of context for the way that we talk about a lot of these players.

2:18.8

It allows players that just haven't had a ton of reasons to talk about them,
