Ever noticed that in today's age, God feels less like an answer and more like a placeholder

from a time when we just didn't know something?

Thunder?

God did it.

Disease?

Also God.

The stars in the universe?

Also God.

Even Plato once mused that magnets were of a divine force.

There was a God-like force causing magnets to work because he simply lacked the

understanding to adequately explain them. But as knowledge grows, the space for that divinity

shrinks. We don't invoke divine will to explain lightning anymore. We use physics. We pray away

infections. We don't explain God by infections. We use medicine. At some point,

you have to ask, if a concept only survives in the gaps of our knowledge, is it really a

profound thing that we just can't fathom? Or is it just an outdated placeholder that's long overdue

to be replaced by something that's actually evidence-based. If you have real evidence

for God that's more than just a gap in our knowledge or a placeholder, we'd love to hear about it.
