We tend to think of the assassinations of American Presidents as being quick and sudden affairs β such as when killers pulled the trigger on their weapons and took the lives of men like Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. But the death of President James Garfield was very different. We talked with Garfield biographer CW Goodyear about the horrible lingering death of this President β and also how it helped spur inventions like air conditioning and the metal detector.
You can buy C.W. Goodyear's book β PRESIDENT JAMES GARFIELD β at Amazon.
