Today we're telling you about the time the King of Saudi Arabia was assassinated.

He was shot at point-blank range by his nephew.

King Feysl's oil minister Ahmad Zaki Yamani was standing beside the king when the shots were

fired.

In 2017, Louise Adago spoke to his daughter, Dr. May Yamani.

I will never forget that day.

I absorbed that pain.

I still recall it now of my father. You know just imagine a human being standing

next to his mentor, his master, his friend shot at such close proximity.

It was March 25th, 1975.

King Faisal was shot three times in quick succession as he bent to kiss his nephew in greeting.

May Yomani's father, Sheikh Yamani, who had been King Faisal's loyal minister for the past 15 years had been briefing the king, which was why he

was right by his side.

King Faisal, who was only the third ruler of the oil-rich desert kingdom and a third son of its founding father

was rushed to hospital but he died shortly afterwards. A few miles across the city that day
