Good evening once again, and what a day this has been.

Officially the 80th day of the second Trump administration.

And my goodness, this day could not have ended soon enough.

Earlier today, the president paused his additional tariffs on dozens of our trading partners for the next 90 days,

but did leave 10% blanket tariffs across the board.

He originally announced those tariffs, of course,

last Wednesday, which he called Liberation Day. And it has been disastrous for global markets since.

Today's announcement came as a welcome surprise because he was asked two days ago if he would do

anything like this. And here's what he said. Would you be open to a pause in tariffs to allow for

negotiations? Well, we're not looking at that. We have many, many countries that are coming to

negotiate deals with us, and they're going to be fair deals. And in certain cases, they're going to be

paying substantial tariffs.

There'll be fair deals.

And just yesterday, his press secretary reiterated that there was no plans for a pause.

And remember, as far as we know, there have been no deals.

There's also a lot of mixed messaging about what prompted the president's change of heart.
