Hey, my name is Doug Sandler. Thanks for tuning into the video. I think one of the biggest challenges that many people have as podcasters is

0:22.6

that they get caught up in these things, these egometrics. And the egometric for podcasting is,

0:27.1

of course, how many downloads that I have, another egometric is, how many sponsors do I have?

0:32.5

Another egometric might just be, you know, how many episodes do I have out there? And I have to tell you that when it

0:39.5

comes to building, which is the topic of our conversation today, when it comes to building a monetization

0:45.1

monster, you've got to take the egot metric and you've got to take the head trash that makes you

1:25.4

to your show, and how do you actually make money at this thing and do it in quick order?

1:31.5

Because many people that get into the podcasting space get in and out so quickly that they've

1:36.7

never given themselves a chance to actually be successful.

1:39.8

And that's because they focus on the egometric oftentimes of how many downloads and

1:44.1

how many sponsors do I have on the show. oftentimes of how many downloads and how many sponsors

1:44.7

do I have on the show. And you do not need either one of those things to be successful at podcasting.

1:51.0

And it's all related to your definition of success. We've been very fortunate with the nice guys on

1:57.0

business podcast. We've done 1,300 episodes. And because I've been doing this for seven years,
