Summary
Most people are stuck in their heads - overthinking, trying to do everything perfectly, beating themselves up - and then wondering why they’re exhausted.
This solo episode is about what I call the art of inner alignment — the shift from overthinking to calm, grounded knowing. You’ll hear:
Why burnout isn’t just too much work — it’s inner misalignment
How the thinking mind constantly creates stories (that we mistake for truth)
How to reconnect with your intuitive knowing — and why it's important
Plus a few personal stories, including one from my 103-year-old gran (who still lives on her own), and a cracking split-brain experiment that shows how unreliable our thoughts really are.

| 0:00.0 | Hello, I'm going to be doing more of these solo episodes now, and this felt like a good one to start with. |
| 0:08.9 | It is something that comes up time and time again in conversations I have as well as my coaching work, |
| 0:14.8 | and it is definitely something I have faced in my own life. |
| 0:18.9 | Most people are stuck in their heads, going round and round, in loops, |
| 0:25.0 | worrying what people think, predicting how something might go wrong next week or next year, |
| 0:30.1 | or in 20 years, and of course, beating themselves up for the fact that this whole process |
| 0:35.8 | is happening in the first place. So no wonder people are so freaking exhausted. |
| 0:41.3 | And if that's you, constantly in your head, you're not alone. |
| 0:45.3 | Now burnout isn't just overwhelm from too much work and digital stimulation, though that clearly does play a part. |
| 0:52.3 | It is also an inner disconnection from your intuition and inner wisdom. |
| 0:58.7 | What to do about it? |
| 0:59.7 | Well, the key is learning to clearly see how the thinking mind works |
| 1:05.3 | and then to use it as a tool rather than being used by it. Because trying to think your way out of a maze |
| 1:13.8 | created by thinking does not work. But there is a wisdom beyond, or perhaps it's a bit more |
| 1:20.1 | accurate to say deeper than thinking. And when you start to learn to tap into that and to act |
| 1:25.9 | on it, it's a bit like unraveling a kink in a hose. |
| 1:29.3 | Everything starts flowing again. And the burnout, the people pleasing, addictions, anxiety, |
| 1:34.9 | all that stuff, it all starts calming down. And one quote I particularly like which speaks to |
| 1:39.8 | this is from Albert Einstein. And it goes, the intuitive mind is a sacred gift |
| 1:45.7 | and the rational mind is a faithful servant. |
| 1:48.5 | We have created a society that honors the servant |
| 1:51.1 | and has forgotten the gift. |
