there's so much material that you can put into the recipes of your art that it's overwhelming.

And that's why I think a really, really powerful skill that painters have to develop that everyone

needs to develop now. We all need to curate. And by that I mean, at a certain point,

we have to say there's so much that I'm seeing, there's

so much out there. What do I see? You know, what do I care about? What is the image or type

of imagery that I land on that it's meaningful for me?

First of all, John, where are you located? Place yourself for us. I'm zooming you from Cambria, California.

Cambria's on the central coast. We're about 10 minutes from Hearst Castle, and I moved here

in retirement five years ago. Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah, that's lovely. It's a small town full of pine trees,

and you might see, if I put the camera on the window, you might see some wild turkeys. So it's

real different from the city living that was my earlier life.
