Recently, I shared a story online about a flight delayed because of the arrogance of one person.

And the vast majority from that post agreed that the one man in first class was profoundly arrogant.

Here's what I've learned after the post went live. It turns out, you ready for it? I was the arrogant person. Let me tell you about it. Our flight

did not take off on time because a seat in first class was wobbly. The passenger seated there refused to sit

in it, insisted it be fixed, and declined to switch seats with anyone else. Get that right. This person

refused to switch seats with anyone else in first class or in the back of the plane. When the

captain came on the intercom, he sounded baffled,

kind of upset, calling it the strangest reason for delay that he'd ever seen. Later, a flight

attendant made her way toward those of us seated farther back, that included me, and explained

what was happening way up there in first class.

Though she would not and could not identify the passenger involved to those of us watching from

the back of the plane, it was obvious. We all knew. We could see the man standing up in the front

of the plane. It was him. We could see him pointing the back and forth with

his wife, the way he looked angrily at others. In the back of the plane, we chatted about his

arrogance and did not just assume what was happening up there. We knew. We did not just assume who the

cause and the problem child was. We knew. During the 90 minutes,

we waited for maintenance to fix a wobbly seat on a plane with plenty of open seats. I found
