Perhaps no other book in the Bible has spawned more curiosity and controversy than the last one.

The Book of Revelation is filled with bizarre imagery that for some makes us scratch our heads.

Today on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall starts a comprehensive verse by verse study through the Book of Revelation.

Along the way, we hope to remove some of the confusion about this book and replace it with awe and wonder for the main character in John's

revelation Jesus Our King. Chuck titled this first message in the series The

Apocalypse in Panorama.

Well, if you have a Bible with you, I hope you will turn it to the last book in it.

I want to read a few verses from the first chapter and then just a few from the last.

Revelation 1, verse 1, and then have ready, if you will,

the 22nd chapter in the last few verses there.

The revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave him to show to his bond servants the things which must soon take

place, and he sent and communicated it by his angel to his bond servant John, who testified to the

word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that He saw. Blessed is he who reads

and those who hear the words of the prophecy,

and heed the things which are written in it,

for the time is near.

Look at verse 9, I John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom

and perseverance which are in Jesus was on the island called Patmas because of the word of God and the testimony

of Jesus. I was in the spirit on the Lord's day and I heard behind me a loud voice like the

sound of a trumpet saying right in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches

to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergumum and to Thiotira and to Sardis and to Purgamum and to Thiotira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laiadicea. V.

19, therefore write the things which you have seen and the things 1. things.
