This is true crime cat.

Joining a cult is a little like saying, hey, this life thing, it's confusing how about

I let someone else take the wheel and I'll go along for the ride.

I'll get them all the money I make and they'll give me food, clothing, shelter, and above

all else, direction.

That sounds pretty good and it is pretty good for a while.

You feel part of something.

There's a strong sense of community within a cult, also a sense that your life has purpose.

You're not just going through the motions once you've joined a cult.

You've made a choice, a commitment, to whatever it is your cult leader stands for.

And that's damn exciting, so many of us go through life with no sense of purpose.

The promise of purpose is almost enough in itself to join a cult.

The problem of course is that the type to even consider becoming a cult leader is likely

to have some screws loose and the whole thing is going to be wrapped up in religion and

the guy is going to be claiming he has a private line to God and you can't question God

because you're a fucking moron who joined a cult and is terrified of questioning anything.

Let alone God whom you likely believe brought you to the cult in the first place because

again you're a fucking moron and that's a little harsh by fucking moron, I mean easily

convinced.

And by easily convinced, I mean you're likely to allow this dude, if you're a dude,

who's taking all your money and thinking for you to bang your wife.
