I am joined this morning by Emma Sanders by Leam Prescott and by Philippa Smallwood to talk about the game that

Liverpool played the Anfield at the weekend there was Liverpool women against Everton unfortunately

they lost 1-0 but I want to start by talking about the sort of occasion if you like and the

historic moment if you want to call it that Philippa because it's obviously the first time,

well I say obviously people might know, but it's the first time that the women have played in Anfield

and to have 23,000 people there to watch that is, I mean it's quite a thing.

It was really special to be honest.

I got a bit emotional before kickoff because I think people who go to watch the women on a regular

basis all know that you know we're lucky if we get over a thousand people going.

So to see so many people there was really special and I think it's something that, you know, if we can keep some of those fans going to the games on a regular basis, it's something that the players will really appreciate.

And it's something that I think that

they deserve you know for a couple of seasons now we've had the Super League and it's gone back to like a Winter League from a Summer League and I think

since that's happened I actually think it's had a bit of an impact on the crowds that we've

been getting at the women's game because I think when you had it over the summer

you know you had people who were like looking to go and watch some sort of football so you've got a few people

who I think went watching the women's games because of that.

Again the crowds weren't great but they were a little bit higher than what they have been
