This is National Works Zone Awareness Week.

I'm a victim of being ran over by a semi-while flagging.

The person wasn't paying attention, and they hit me with their vehicle.

I've seen an accident where we were the first people to walk up, and that picture will never leave my mind.

I've seen the people get hit before.

It's been horrible.

Construction zones on roadways and bridges are more than just cones and equipment.

They're the workplace for thousands of dedicated union laborers. Everybody has a family that they need to get back home to, so please just pay attention to us out here while we're working. We all have family, and I know it's a pain in the ass. We're trying to make the roads better for y'all. We're doing this for everyone. We're hardworking Hoosiers, just like you, and we all want to make it home safely. People would just take a couple seconds to pay attention. Be aware where we're at, where the cone zones are at. According to a latest poll from the New York Times and UGov, The American Dream is dying.

No surprise here.

This poll says Americans are getting more pessimistic.

They found that 61% of people still believe in the idea of the American dream,

but 38% think it applies to not everyone in the

country. Nearly half say it doesn't apply equally to all Americans. Most people think things are

getting worse, not better. 59% say the American dream is less achievable when they grew up and

almost half think kids today will be worse off than their parents.

I mean, it's not, it's not an entirely incorrect take.

I mean, you got to think in 1960 when kind of the American dream really came into focus,

the idea of homeownership, the white picket fence, etc.

Then the average home price was only $11,000 to $12,000. And then now in 2026, that has skyrocketed to between $355,000 and $437,000 for your average home price. And in comparison, you know, that has, that's as far outpaced
