| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to The Week Junior Show. I'm Bex and I'm joined by writers Joe and Eve from |
| 0:06.8 | the Week Junior, the magazine Making Sense of the World for 8 to 14 year olds. Now there's lots |
| 0:11.8 | going on in this week's episode. We'll be talking about the incredible life of conservationist Dr Jane Goodall, |
| 0:17.4 | a scheme to swap Halloween costumes and an over-70s football team victory. |
| 0:23.0 | Make sure you're listening closely because at the end of the episode, we'll be asking a |
| 0:26.4 | question about what you've heard. And if you answer it correctly, you could win a prize. |
| 0:29.9 | But before we begin, there's something I want to talk to you all about. This week, |
| 0:33.8 | the magazine has a feature about Hamza Yassin's new documentary. It's called Hamza's Hidden Wild Isles. And it got me thinking, what is a wild animal that you would love to see in real life? Eve, go for it. Who would you like to see? Or what would you like to see? I would love to see a giraffe because I don't think I've ever seen a giraffe in real life. Just because they've got this reputation for being |
| 0:54.2 | really tall animals and I'd just love to see, oh, they really as tall as I'm imagining. |
| 0:58.7 | I'm a bit obsessed with giraffes so I can get behind this. And I do love a giraffe. Yeah, |
| 1:03.6 | absolutely. I'm here for you. Joe, how about you? I'd really love to see a snake in the world. |
| 1:09.4 | I watched a TV show of my dad as a kid called Austin Stevens Adventures, |
| 1:13.7 | and it was about a guy who used to track down snakes and other creatures in the wild, |
| 1:17.9 | and that's kind of led to a bit of a fascination with them as an adult. |
| 1:21.1 | And this guy used to find these incredibly venomous things like king cobras and black members, |
| 1:25.3 | but I'm more thinking about seeing like a grass snake or something like that, just in the UK. So something a bit more manageable. Yeah, snakes, it's a controversial one, Joe, but I respect it. I understand why. I'm going to go elephant because I, I mean, I've seen them, I think in zoos, but seeing one in the wild, I think would be quite majestic. Like seeing them all kind of like lined up and walking behind each other and going around, I think, would be quite majestic. Like, seeing them all kind of, like, lined up and walking behind each other and going around, I think would be quite incredible. And I want to see, like, how flaley their trunks are, basically. Our listeners can't see that, but I did like an arm gesture of a trunk. So if you're sitting at home and you'd love to tell us what wild animal you want to see in real life, just send us an email, we'd love to know, go to hello at theweekjunior.com or leave a voice |
| 2:06.6 | note at funkidslive.com slash the week junior. All you've got to do is grab a grown-up, |
| 2:11.7 | look for that big red button and record your voice. If your voice note is played next week, |
| 2:15.7 | you could win a week junior roving reporter |
| 2:17.9 | batch. Now last week, we asked everybody what book character they would like to be. We've got a |
| 2:23.3 | message here from Fifi. Hi, my name is Fifi, and the character I will like to be is Daisy in Murder, most lady- Like series. So Daisy is the detective that she's super cool, |
| 2:41.8 | that she always finds little details for the criminal. This case, so I was but it's at, and bye, love the show. |
