This is the transfiguration, that's what we call it, because of one of the words used in the text here, it's where Jesus is transfigured or metamorphosed.

He's changed somehow before the guys, before the

guys, Gies and John, and his glory's revealed.

And I think that this is a monumental,

like epic pillar moment in the Gospel of Mark

that reveals to us, among other things, the difference between Jesus' first and

second coming.

I think that's like an interesting nuance that we should, we just want to observe while we're

going through the text today.

let's make sure that we are getting the full context and just the text itself.

So we're just going to read Mark,

chapter 9 verses 1 through 13,

and we'll look at this.

It says, and Jesus was saying to them, truly I say to you,

there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power.

Six days later, Jesus took with him, Peter, James, and John, and brought them up on a high mountain by themselves, and he was transfigured before them.
