So there are a couple ways to look at the comments of Mick Melvaney, the incoming White House chief of staff.

A couple days ago, video emerged of Melvaney saying of his new boss, I think is a terrible human being today.

Audio or late last night, audio emerge of Melvaney saying this of his current and future boss.

Should either of these people be role models for my 16 year old triplets? No.

In an ordinary universe with both of these people's past activities disqualified them from serving for office.

Yes, but that's not the world we live in today. The world we live in today is either him or her.

And for me, that's still an easy choice.

So on the one hand, it is not great to have an employee say those words multiple times about the boss,

to think that about the boss, to be very, very sincere that he does not like the boss on a deep, deep level.

On the other hand, one of the main requirements of the job of chief of staff is to demonstrate realism,

to assess the world accurately and Mick Melvaney certainly does that with those words.

In fact, I was down on the Mick Melvaney chief of staff job because another requirement of the job of chief of staff

is that you accurately assess that which is possible and that which is not possible in order to get anything done.

And once you have made the decision to work for Donald Trump, you give up any chance of ever getting anything done.

So in other words, you have taken a job with no possibility of achievement and the very nature of that job is to achieve that which is possible.
