The story of the space race is pretty well known.

In the 1960s, the U.S. was going toe to toe with the Soviet Union, racing to see who would be first.

Soviet pilot Yuri Gagarin became the first human to

visit outer space. Less than a decade later, American Neil Armstrong became the first person to

walk on the moon. But in most moments of history, there are always a few names that fall through the cracks.

In the space race, one of those names was Ed Dwight.
