I'm Rabbi Shira Stutman. And I'm Hannah Rosen. Is there a

Goldstein funeral home in every city? And is it Goldberg or Goldstein? It's a gold something or silver

something. Well, our producer, Robin Lynn, says that in the Evanston area, it's the Weinstein

funeral home. But there's definitely,

I think, a steen is necessary in order for it to be kosher. For sure. I think the one in Queens

that I know is just steen or ston. They may have just dispensed with the gold.

To save money. Exactly. To save money. They're just like, we don't do gold anymore.

You know, I don't know if I've ever told you this story, which is a true story in my family history, which is that I'm going to

make it very short for you, Hannah, but when my great-grandfather moved here from Russia,

saved up like every single penny to open a tailor shop, his last name was address. But the guys

who like wrote it on the window of the tailor shop, they wrote Andris. They added an end. He didn't speak English well enough to fight with them. So he just changed his last name. I feel like every Jew has that story. They all have a story of this is not my real name. And yet they're all named Goldberg, so it's weird, you know.

You would have think, wait, what was, what is your name used to be? Okay, so my family has, you know, Ms. Rocky, and my dad has like green eyes and he's very fair. His last name is Roseo, and the Vov was read as a nun. So he just changed it to Rosen and Israel because he was like, yeah, that's an Ashkenazi name.

Like, people will respect me.
