And last month, Deb brought us some wonderful information on some amazing mystics and avatars and teachers out of India.

And so for my part of our research on more modern mystics, I decided to choose some interesting people. I hadn't really

looked into or researched a whole lot. So I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed

putting together these notes. We're going to start by talking about a man who may or may not have existed.

Now, we've talked about alchemists before on the show, and even if you haven't heard those episodes,

you've likely heard of these famous alchemists like Francis Bacon from the 16th century

or Nicholas Flamell from the 14th century, but have you heard of a 20th century alchemist?

Let's dive into a mysterious 20th century Frenchman who we only know as Falkanelli.

Now, have you ever heard of him, Deb?

I have not, Samantha.

I confess this is wonderful new material that we're presenting in this episode.

Yeah, he's pretty new to me too. Now, whoever he was and wherever he came from,

he first came to light with the publication of his first book called The Mystery of the Cathedral's in 1926,

which said that the building structures, symbols, and art and Gothic cathedrals

were not merely religious symbols, but encoded instructions for alchemist, blending

architectural mastery with esoteric symbolism. He believed that the symbolism embedded in these structures

was not just visual, but also linguistic, with names, inscriptions, and even the sounds of words serving as coded instructions for alchemist.

Isn't that such a great idea? When I first heard of this, Deb, I wrote, this is an idea for a Dan Brown novel.

Well, I, in a way, exactly, and yes, and instead, I need now to go back and look and see if

Ken Phillette talked about any of this in Pillars of the Earth. I know. I don't think he did,

but I don't remember this. No. Me either.
