its size, and established it as a global superpower. Understanding America's wars is essential for understanding American history.

Thank you. host, James Early. Hello and welcome back to Key Battles of the Texas Revolution.

In our last episode, we saw the tensions increasing until fighting and even an armed

rebellion breaks out in Texas. We saw

minor Texan victories at battles or really more like skirmishes in places like Gonzalez,

Goliad, Concepcion, and even San Antonio. And we saw the, in particular in that last one,

we saw the Texian forces drive the Mexican Army out of San Antonio all the way back into Mexico.

And this time we'll see what the Mexican Army does in response.

But before we get into that, we're going to talk about what was going on among the Texian leadership.

There were divisions. There were some crazy schemes, and we'll talk about that,

and then we'll jump right into what happened when Santa Ana led the army of Mexico

back into Texas for revenge.
