Summary

Liverpool have plenty of decisions to make ahead of the summer transfer window opening - but where should their priorities lie? Matt Addison joins Kai Delaney to talk through the different options that Liverpool have, and which positions they need to strengthen the most. Gini Wijnaldum looks set to be leaving on a free transfer, so how do Liverpool replace him - do they need to make a midfield signing, and what type of player should that be? In attack, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino could all depart. Liverpool will aim for a Diogo Jota-type arrival for replacing one of those players - and Harvey Elliott, on loan for the season at Blackburn, should not be forgotten. There will not be wholesale changes made with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez among those to return to the side next season after long-term injuries, but centre-back is a sure-fire area for a transfer deal to take place, with Ibrahima Konate in contention to fill that gap and Ozan Kabak's purchase option another thing to consider after his loan spell. Liverpool FC talking points.

Hello and welcome to the Agenda here on the Blood Red. points. Yeah, not too bad mate. Some good result at least for Liverpool. Maybe not the performance this weekend, but some positivity I think much needed and much needed win at Anfield.

0:31.4

We are recording this shortly after Liverpool to one win over Aston Villa at Anfield,

0:37.0

but obviously this is coming to you on Sunday.

0:40.0

We are talking today at all things transfer, so not too long to go now till the end of the season and just to kind of look ahead really see what Liverpool may or may not need to do this summer.

0:52.0

First of all just a kind of general question now what are your

0:54.9

thoughts? I think there's sort of been a few questions asked I know speaking to

0:59.9

supporters and journalists of other clubs looking at the whole particularly Aston Villa obviously in the week leading up to this.

1:06.8

There seems to be a sort of idea that given the way that Liverpool season has gone, maybe it'll be a big summer for them

1:13.7

in terms of transfers.

1:15.1

And to be honest, I'm not quite sure

1:17.0

that that will be the case.

1:18.0

I know we're going to go through each position very shortly.

1:20.5

But I think there's the sort of minor things for

1:23.0

Liverpool to do rather than wholesale changes. I wouldn't expect them to to

1:26.7

spend you know a huge amount of money certainly not compared to one or two at the

1:30.8

other clubs. I think it's it's more a case of finding it a bit more

1:34.3

squad depth. I think that's certainly an attack, something that they will have to look at,

1:38.6

maybe try and replicate what they did last summer with the Ogo Jota and try and find you know the next

1:44.2

version of him but I don't think there's going to be you know huge changes I think you

1:48.8

know Liverpool as I say well we'll try and and refine things and I think you know that it's a bit of a
