Natalia is an associate professor at the University of Los Andes,

where she is the head of the GeoScience Department.

Her research focuses on physical volcanology

based on Tefra field mapping, stratigraphy,

and sedimentology to reconstruct past explosive eruptions.

She also works in the development of workshops

bridging Western science and indigenous knowledge

to mitigate volcanic risk.
