Dr. Overton is a professor emeritus at Louisiana State

University in the Department of Environmental Sciences.

Dr. Overton's research interests include

understanding the fates and distributions

of hydrocarbons following an oil spill,

the environmental chemistry of hazardous chemicals,

and the detection of environmental pollutants

at the site of sample collection.

So could you start off by giving us a rundown of something

very basic that I'm sure many of us still don't understand?
