David is a writer and the editor of Hotel America.

Among his many publications, he is also the author of The Body of Brooklyn

and he co-edits the 21st century essay series at Ohio State University Press.

Let's hear what he has to say about the scandal surrounding a million little pieces.

Hi David, thank you so much for joining us today.

My pleasure, thank you.

So I would love to start off by getting a little backstory on James Fry,

his career and kind of what led him to write the memoir a million little pieces.

Right, I don't know too much about the backstory other than the autobiographical details

that he represents. I know about the book and I certainly know about the backlash against the book

and the arguments that have emerged which quite frankly are fairly typical arguments

...
