University of Chicago, and author of Bring the War Home, the White Power Movement and

paramilitary America.

How are you?

Fine, thanks.

I'm happy to be here.

So can you start off by telling us a little bit about your field of study?

Sure. I'm a historian of the present, I suppose.

So I study the long aftermath of warfare

and I also study the white power movement

and kind of vigilante violence and racist violence more broadly.

If you could help us understand, how did the Gulf War affect the early 90s period in U.S. history?
