Phil Perry is in Buffalo. Phil, it was a first half that nobody expected, followed by a second half that you could kind of see coming.

But in the overall, the Patriots have been pleaded with to try and be a competitive team against a good team all season long, be a pain on the ass.

And they were that against the best team, in my opinion, in the NFL.

So what are we left with after this loss to the Buffalo Bills, Phil?

Explain to me what the takeaway should be.

To me, the takeaway is you're getting closer to what you wanted to be at the end of the season,

which is a pain in the ass to play against.

And they were pain in the ass for one of the best teams in football.

And they came to their place in difficult conditions in front of rowdy fans that I had to

fight through after the game.

I mean, it's remarkable.

These people, they're mutants in the best way possible, the fact that they can endure

temperatures like they had today and still have the energy after three-hour football

game the way they did today.

But I think they're getting closer to it.

So is that a moral victory, Tom?

What I liked maybe the most about the post-game podium stuff was that they aren't looking

at it as a moral victory.

I think it's verging on moral victory, but I like that they don't see it that way because

it tells me they're looking for even more, and they should be.

They should be.
