Well it was a day we all feared.

From the moment President Trump took the oath of office his allies told themselves that

there was a limit to how far he would go.

The adults in the room would keep him under control that it couldn't happen here.

So how did it happen?

How could the Capitol be so fragile?

How could a President amass so much power?

Can anything be done to restrain President Trump with two weeks to go until President

Alec Biden moves into the White House?

What does this mean for the Republican Party?

For those who were Trump skeptics, think Romney was chaining, those who became his allies,

like Lindsey Graham and even Mike Pence, even though they didn't like him at first,

maybe now they don't like him again.

And then those who are the actual true believers, can these groups live together inside one party?

How do we fix this?

We have a massive information crisis, a political movement that survives on misinformation, a right-wing

media ecosystem that mainstreams those lies for a big chunk of Americans and a fundraising

apparatus that incentivizes the most extreme positioning on the right.

So how can we sit down and peaceably govern if we don't start from the same set of facts?
