And the Yeah, Hello everyone and welcome back to one thousand one classic short stories and tales.

0:35.0

It's time for another Sherlock Holmes adventure and this one is one of Arthur Conan Doyle's personal favorites.

0:41.0

When Doyle decided to quit the series and had Moriarty do away

0:45.6

with Holmes, there was a public outcry. As the saying goes, you don't tug on Superman's

0:52.2

cape, you don't spit into the wind, and you don't tug on Superman's cape you don't spit into the wind and

0:54.4

Which afforded me the greatest shock and surprise of any event in my adventurous life.

2:03.0

Even now after this long interval, I find myself thrilling as I think of it,

2:08.0

and feeling once more that sudden flood of joy, amazement, and incredulity which utterly submerged my mind.

2:16.5

Let me say to that public which has shown some interest in those glimpses which I have occasionally

2:21.0

given them of the thoughts and actions of a very
