For the first time in 63 years, both the union actors and writers are on strike

at the same time, bringing Hollywood to its knees in the first major event impacted by this double strike

was the premiere of Disney's newest movie The Haunted Mansion which the film's stars did not attend.

So in their absence, Disney replaced them

with theme park actors, dressed as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse,

Correll DeVille, and other such classic characters,

who they had walked the red carpet and take pictures instead

and joining us today is an actor and friend of mine who's actually in that movie

who's going to give us his insider perspective about the implications of the actors and the

writer strike on culture entertainment maybe even some politics and what he

sees happening moving forward welcome back to the show. Ian Kovale.

How you feeling about all this?

You know, we were talking, you and I were talking about this a little bit earlier

and there's a lot to unpack, you know, because I was telling you that some people in my life, family members that, um, and acquaintances that don't know me, you know, they just know I'm an actor, they don't really know the

ends and outs of it and they'll say, they're asking me like, so are you, are you on strike too?

And I'm like, no I I never joined the union I mean I'm eligible to but there's

literally no logical sense for me to do it

living in Georgia. Yeah, you don't have to. Yeah, there's there's no logical sense. So that's the way it works in Georgia is you only have to get cast in a production.

At least is the way it used to work. That is a sag production and and that makes you SAG eligible and then you don't
