The The Robert goes to see Leanna right away.

As soon as he arrives at Winterfell after a very long journey, it's first on his list,

apart from perhaps basic hellos, he still pines for her, perhaps as much as he still hates the man

he killed for stealing him away from her. Or so he says. He believes what he says, but is that really what happened?

Ned, his best friend, does not corroborate this in his own thoughts.

He corroborates the anger and the love, but not the stealing away part.

In fact, Ned doesn't really have negative thoughts about Rhaegar at all, given that Robert

claims Ragar kidnapped and raped Liana, this is telling, to say the least. What exactly it tells us

is where it gets tricky, however. Later in the book, we learn about the Tower of Joy, where Liana and

Ragar went sometime after this kidnapping

slash elopement, where she died just as Ned Founder. We learn also of the tourney of Heron Hall,

the event that set up Rhaegar and Leanna's meeting, where the night of the laughing tree made

their appearance, and where Rhaegar named Leanna Queen of Love and Beauty, laying the blue

rose laurel in her lap in front of his own wife and everybody else, like her betrothed Robert.

Like Illyrio said, however, to crown her is to kill her, in this case crowning her as the

queen of love and beauty. Forever after Leanna is associated with that blue

rose garland, and it in turn is associated with her doom. What started at the tourney, ended at

the Tower of Joy, and this kidnapping slash elopement of Leona and Ragar is in between. Their

disappearance is that mysterious bridge between these two other huge, equally mysterious seminal,

A Song of Ice and Fire mysteries.

Along the way, we learn how these events are associated with.

The princess slash prince that was promised, the Song of Ice and Fire, lots of other prophetic things.
