We understand that the Yankees are playing historically bad baseball over the last week

and a half.

And I remember all the way back in April when the Mets were struggling, we took a clock out.

It was called the Carlos Mendoza clock.

And I said, when the clock strikes midnight for each of us, we will let you know.

And it's time to fire Carlos Mendoza. Now, I heard Boomer earlier this morning, mockingly, how out of

touch that Boomer is Siasin, mockingly talking about how Yankee fans want to fire Aaron Boone.

It's not a joke, boom. Yankee fans do want to fire Aaron Boone. Now, no one's saying that's the

right answer or that's going to fix their issues, but that's the reality of baseball in 2026.

So I begin this show, no pun intended, with a temperature check. What time is it in terms of you, Sean Morash, saying screw it, fire the

manager midseason? It's 10.30 p.m. Evan, but I'll be honest, it was only dinner time at this time

yesterday. I think yesterday to me was the biggest jump in swaying me in the pendulum of, I don't

think they're going to win anything

with this guy. That was that game above any other game this year. And I would argue, dating back

to game one of the 2024 World Series since, was the game that the fingerprints are all over

Aaron Boone as to why the Yankees lost a baseball game? Now, is this not using Goldschmidt as a

pinch hitter for Oswaldo Cabrero when he did admit after the game he was available? Was it one of the two bunts that Jose Caboero had? Three things. You hit on the first two. First of all, you just got to know your players and know your lineup. And the two are connected here. When they are coming up and you have that ghost runner on second and Jose Caballero's baton, I understand he struggled of late. I understand he can bond. But the batter after him is Oswaldo Cabrera and you're not going to pinch hit. You cannot, with Spencer Jones, who's fast, take the bat out of Caballero's hands to pass the baton to Oswaldo Cabrera. Like, it doesn't matter if you've been around baseball your whole life. It doesn't matter if you started watching the Yankees just this year. Anybody with a pulse who watched that game yesterday knew Jose Caballero is in a better situation to drive in a run than Oswaldo Cabrera. Now, if he does bunt him, the answer has to be pinch hitting with Paul Goldschmidt, and I was operating under the assumption of why I was more angry about the button yesterday, that based on the illness that was going around, which is funny that Spencer Jones comes off the bench yesterday, that Paul Goldschmidt likely had that same illness. But for Aaron Boone to not say that after the game and instead, nope, I just trusted that Oswaldo Cabrera was going to get a poke. That actually borders on malpractice. Like that, put it this way, I am not suggesting this is the case at all. But when we have like investigations into the NBA and everything, you're like, what the hell's going on? It was so bad. bad it made you think, is something going on here? Like, how could you think Oswaldo Cabrera? Who's going to get sent down for Trent Grisham today or tomorrow? Has a better chance at poking one than Paul Goldschmidt or Jose Cabay? How could you think that and be around baseball all your life? I'm sorry. So that was number two. Number three was simply this. And this is maybe the on Cashmer and Company. We are down to the point, and we were there three weeks ago. Camillo Doval is your absolute last option in the bullpen. That's it. He's gotten that bad. Forget Circle of Trust, and you've seen the year. A hedgerick said, even Paul Blackburn. I know. Has pitched great since May 1st. And I know he came into the game yesterday, and they they used some of these bodies and I know that David Bednar is out on the paternity list He has to now going forward if he's going to be on this team be your last option out of the pen and if you lose because you've used every part of the bullpen that's fine He cannot be coming into that game in the 11th inning anybody is better Yeah so can I start at the back end on this? Sure This is is a Brian Cashman issue. Camillo Deval has options. For those not aware, that means they can send him down. Yeah, not just Yovani Cruz? Yes. That's my point. Yvani Cruz has been here for 30 seconds, two different times this year, and every time Aaron Boone and the Yankees have used him, he's looked pretty dominant. Yeah. He's a 26-year-old who's harnessing his stuff, who very well could be the reliever that comes out of nowhere that has a big year for your team. Oh, I'm going to pause you right there. Very well could be. There's a good chance if the Yankees don't win the division. we're looking at them getting Yovani Cruz getting big outs in the wildcar going gee I wonder if he kept this guy up maybe we're not playing in the wildcard round
