So everyone was shocked roughly a year ago when we found out that overdose deaths had

increased 30% in a year.

With many people blaming the pandemic, and many people not blaming the pandemic.

So the overdose death thing has been growing.

Actually, it's gone up every year except for one since the 70s.

Some people would say, see the war on drugs is a failure.

Let's stop it.

My libertarian friends have wanted to legalize drugs forever.

I've never understood how that would work.

It just has never been explained to me in a way that makes sense to me.

But anyway, so drug deaths have gone up.

Well, it's a completely different thing that was a few years ago.

Remember, we talked about this all the time.

It was huge. It was exploding.

It was growing. It's what hillbilly allergy was about to a certain extent.

Remember all the 60 minutes reports of the big pharmaceutical companies that were sending millions of pills to one pharmacy and one rural town.

And then that pharmacist would dole them out to anybody who claimed they had their elbow hurt.

And all these people were getting hooked on painkillers and dying and rush limbaugh went deafened.

But those were real legal drugs, not legally being distributed and used,
