Good morning. Welcome to Axios today. It's Monday, December 21st, the first official day of winter. I'm Erica Pandey filling in for Nialaboodoo. Here's how we're making you smarter today. We could soon have self-driving taxis. Plus America's

somehow fitting terrible end to 2020. First though, today's one big thing,

the $900 billion coronavirus compromise.

We've been talking about a second stimulus deal for months. Last night, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell

announced both sides have finally come to an agreement. We can finally report what our nation has needed to hear for a very long time.

So what's in this deal?

So there's a lot in this deal.

We're talking over $900 billion.

First, there's going to be another round of these PPP loans for small businesses.

There are going to be direct checks to lots of taxpayers.

But this time I think it's going to be about $600.

There's money to help with vaccine distribution and contact tracing and things like that.
