Well today's topic of the mini episode are five of the hottest plastic

surgeries and why you should avoid them. Now over the years as I've been a plastic

surgeon there have been procedures that have come and gone. Doctors who have

recommended procedures and treatments as the best thing and then a year or two

later we find out well maybe that really

jump on the latest bandwagon, but there are doctors who do that

and they recommend it to their patients,

they perform it on their patients,

and then they find out that maybe it doesn't work so

well. Just a quick example this is something that's really not being used hardly

at all. Many years ago I was recommended by a company that I should try using saline filled lip implants.

And these are silicone implants that are filled with saline and people would actually

surgically put them into a lip to try to make the lip look bigger.

Well it makes sense that this is not going to look right because it's a saline filled implant

that feels stiff, looks stiff, and it's going to make the lips look stiff.

So, you know, it was popular for a little while, some doctors performed it,

and it never really caught on, and to my understanding, they probably aren't even sold

anymore.

So we're not going to cover those today because a lot of those

procedures are coming gone, but there are five procedures that are going on today.
