This is, it was an ingenious caper that netted a very large amount of cash for somebody.

There was a massive police investigation that lasted for years. And in the end,

the cops came up empty-handed. No one has a clue as to the identity of our perp. Decades after.

This story is actually a legend in Japan, kind of like our friend, D.V. People have a sort of a sneaking admiration for our perp who pulled off a brazen, audacious crime without anyone getting hurt and got away clean, just like DB.
