You and I've known each other for a very long time, and a lot of people may not know that you

were a senior advisor to Harry Reid, the Senate Democratic leader, to Nancy Pelosi, the soon-to-be legendary

Speaker of the House, but maybe she's already legendary.

She is.

And you also were one of the founders of one of the most influential left-of- center new media startups that took place within

the Center for American Progress called Think Progress. And of course, you're most well-known

as the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders. What have you learned from kind of the collective of what looked to be

four very different style of politics? Yeah, and you can extend the most effective leadership

styles to a lot of different people, not only Bernie, but John Podestan, who is the head of

the Center for American Progress and who recruiting me to join there. You talk about people who I've been fortunate to learn under different styles of management

and different styles of leadership. All, I would argue, very effective in the ways they do things.
