I'm Bob Carlson, and this is Unfictional.

Unfictional is a program of true stories and personal documentaries and on this episode it's the winners from the third annual KCRW 24-hour

radio race. On August 8th, 2015, over 200 teams from around the world set out to the exact same

minute with the same goal to create an entertaining broadcast quality radio story in less than 24 hours.

At the start of the race, the contestants all received the theme to this year's race by a video message.

And now it's time to deliver what radio racers around the world have been waiting for. The theme to 2015's KCRW radio race.

Time Change. And with that, racers set out to collect sound and create a story somehow using the theme

time change. All of these stories had to be under four minutes long and the next day

as time ran out dozens of radio stories were uploaded to SoundCloud. There were

pieces that were funny, strange, beautiful, and moving.

Here are just a few samples of some of them.

Some may change me

but I can't change I can't change. I'm on Governor's Island doing a living history

portraying life of a Civil War soldier just what it would have

looked like for a soldier bring that to the public I am in Civil War uniform

head to toe and wool. It's handsome.
