Summary

Last year was a landmark year for the Movers & Shakers team, as our Parky Charter project reached 100,000 petition signatories and generated a parliamentary debate. So how will we be following it up in 2026? To debate the possible campaigns we could embark on this year, the gang are joined by Mark 'Crippo' Cripps, our marketing guru, to try and come up with an impactful, yet achievable, proposition. As ever, you can send your thoughts and suggestions to us on social media or via email here.

Now, today's topic is all about selecting a campaign for 2026, and I have a nasty feeling.

0:51.9

It may be a little bit of a poison chalice, because how on earth do we

0:56.1

match last year? Let's see who's here, first of all. Nicholas Mostyn, Rory Kettlin Jones.

1:01.3

Paul Mayhewarcher. Mark Mildale. And it's not just us in the pub. We're joined by a fantastic guest,

1:06.7

who is a pseudo-mover and shaker himself. He helped us enormously with the campaign last year, but very much behind the scene.

1:14.0

Today, we've dragged him out of the theatre wings to explicitly help us.

1:18.0

His name is Mark Crips or Cripo.

1:20.9

Although my dictation software calls him Cripto.

1:23.9

I've been called worse.

1:25.7

He's not only Parki himself, but was the chief marketing officer of the

1:29.7

economist group for eight years. So I think he knows what's what. Welcome. Thank you. Now, two things

1:35.8

before we get to the ideas themselves. The first thing was, I thought we probably need some sort of

1:40.8

criteria to judge the idea by whether it's a decent idea or not. And I was going to suggest three things. Impact. Does it make a difference to the lives of Parkies? The second thing is meaningful. Is it something we think is worthwhile? And the third one is achievable. I don't know if you're happy to run with those or whether you would like to add. They're all good.

2:01.1

I'm not sure we'll get all three, but...
