spending wars hit the floor. Number two, Senate show vote sparked division among GOP. And number three,

House conservatives try to take out their moderate members. All right, Jake, let's get into it.

We are leading Punchball News AM with a very interesting look at House Republicans and their strategy as it comes to the 2025 spending bills.

The House will vote today on the fiscal year 2025 Milcon VA spending bill, the first of next year's measures to reach the floor under

new appropriations chairman Tom Cole, the Republican from Oklahoma.

But what's interesting here, and we get into it, but only a handful of House Democrats

are likely to vote for this nearly $379 billion package. Traditionally among the most bipartisan of the 12

annual spending bills, just another sign of kind of Republicans choosing to go their own way,

kind of defying reality when they know at the end of the day they're going to have to find a compromise

and work with Democrats because obviously House Republicans only control the House, not the

Senate, not the White House at this point. Yes. And we should note that at the top of this,

Joe Biden has arrived in Paris. You know, I was trying to get a summer trip to Paris, Anna.

I'm upset that that wasn't approved by Punchpole News, but that's okay.

We will, I will stay on Capitol Hill and do the people's work.

Now, listen, the big issue here is that there's a couple interesting cross currents that we have to pay attention to.

Number one, it's already June, and the first spending bill is heading to the House floor.

This is the milk con VA bill, usually one of the, as you note, one of the most bipartisan bills.
