What do we expect from the scouting combine?

I believe Bloom that the player that has the most to gain or lose, perhaps, is Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

So let's get into it because I think we see things differently on McCarthy.

One of the most mercurial names that you bring up in draft conversations. People either love him or hate him.

Our friend Daniel Jeremiah said he's an acquired taste. Ha! Okay, well, let's get a taste in

Indianapolis where, of course, I will be. Yeah. And isn't it really actually brilliant of McCarthy's camp to come out when he's still more of an unknown?

And that allows teams that are needing a quarterback. And according to Jeremiah, the draft class next year isn't shaping up to be good.

Now, things can change, but teams that are

looking ahead might say, well, McCarthy is probably going to be better than any prospect that's

going to be coming out next year. So the questions about McCarthy revolve around how he wasn't

the centerpiece of the offense, right? If he's an NFL

quality franchise quarterback, why wasn't the offense centered around him? But Lance

Zero Line has said that around the league, there's some that think his processing is elite.

And he is a player that had really good numbers on third down.

He had good numbers when they asked him to make a play.

So that certainly could indicate, if you want to do glass half full, is there's a lot more there, a lot more meat on the bone.

It's just not Jim Harbaugh's style to build his offense around a quarterback, Justin Herbert.
