Okay. Hello and welcome to words matter.

This is a special, I'm going to call it a special episode of Words Matter,

and I'm deviating from our usual introduction, where I talk about Nora Ornstein and myself discussing all the matters that affect shape our electorate,

our democracy. And you're hearing this just in literally the days after the November 5th election,

where Donald Trump became president once again,

and Kamala Harris lost. And Norm, I'm just going to start because, again, I think that the entire

country doesn't need our introduction to the gravity of the situation. But I think the entire

country could use a little bit

of wisdom. I know I texted with you and we traded just, I think, both the raw emotions,

but then stepping back, like kind of what we think the country needs to hear. And I just want

call upon you to do that again. So I would like to just start by one, telling everybody who's listening that if you actually need to pause and put your phone down or whatever device you're using to listen to this to just walk away and go outside for 10 minutes, I think that's incredibly smart and welcome and then return to this when you've had a moment
