At noon, Fulton Street in New York's financial district is a busy place with businessmen and women hurrying to restaurants and meetings.

Some street vendors set up at the corner of Fulton Street and Williams offering a quick lunch.

This is about three blocks away from where the Twin Towers once stood.

Of course, since 9-11, that area's gotten lots of attention. But few people walking down Fulton near William Street realized the significance of

this spot. Most of them don't know what happened here in September 1857.

Revival, sure has been a popular topic lately.

I mean, since the move of God we saw at Asbury University, the Jesus Revolution

movie, it's a topic that many are talking about.

And it's a topic that we as a ministry are especially passionate about.

In fact, it's even in our name. We want to see the Lord revive the hearts of women all around the world.

And today we're talking about an important revival that began in 1857. It swelled church attendance,

changed people's behaviors, and even gave birth to new missionary endeavors.

But mostly, the revival inspired God's people to pray.

Here's Nancy to tell us more.

It was on September 23, 1857, that the Lord began a revival that swept across the country.

I'm referring to the Great Prayer Revival of 1857 and 1858.
