Summary

Jimmy is back from Vegas and Joe is just back—without going to Vegas and seeing UFC 246. Today they discuss chapter 24 of the 1689 Confession on "The Civil Magistrate” or our governing authorities. How should Christians view their country’s government? Did God appoint President Trump to office? What keeps us from idolizing political parties or candidates?

Our Southwest Conference is going down on Saturday, March 21 at 10:00 a.m. in Burleson, TX at Graceview Baptist Church. Our theme for this one-day micro conference is Contending for the Gospel: Protecting Orthodoxy and Promoting Unity.

Joe Thorn and Jimmy Fowler will teach four sessions exploring how we contend for the faith against heresy and false doctrine with those outside the church, as well as those inside the church. The conference will conclude at 4:00 p.m. after a live recording of the Doctrine and Devotion Podcast.
