0:00.0	There's just so many scripts to read and not enough time. But you know what? We've got a lot of time to talk about some scripts today. Welcome to the 14th annual screenwriting nominees, Q&A. Howdy? I'm Jeff Goldsmith, and this is the Q&A. My agenda is simple. Each week I plan to bring you in-depth insight into the creative process of storytelling. Folks, we have an absolutely amazing panel for you today.
0:22.8	And as the pandemic is still on, this was done as two Zooms.
0:26.6	And that's the way it's been for the 13th and 14th Q&As.
0:30.4	And before that, we would just fill a theater and do it live in front of an audience,
0:33.9	which I truly miss.

0:35.7	I'm still really happy with this Q&A because it
0:37.9	turned out great as these panelists are great. So let's get into it. So to understand the panelists,
0:42.9	you need to understand how this worked. It was done as three different zooms. First, we did a group
0:47.9	zoom, but two of our panelists were not present for it. They were actually in different time zones. So we went and we were able to
0:54.3	do separate zooms with them asking the exact same questions. And I got to say, I'm really happy
0:58.6	about how it cut in. So here's the lineup, folks. For our two zoom in panelists, it actually
1:03.7	happens to be the first two films because we are going alphabetically by film. So first up,
1:09.6	we have Belfast writer-director, Sir Kenneth Branagh.
1:12.6	Next is Drive My Car writer-director, Ryosuke. And if you've watched our previous podcast,
1:18.9	you'll know that Mr. Hamaguchi is speaking Japanese through a translator. And we leave the first
1:23.7	few seconds of what he has to say in because we want you to hear the filmmaker's voice,
1:27.7	but then we immediately cut to the translator. And then in our group chat, we have Dune co-writer,
1:32.7	John Spates, King Richard writer, Zach Balin, the Power of the Dog writer-director, Jane Campion,
1:39.3	and last but not least, the worst person in the world co-writer Escal Fokt. Now, you know, in many of the
1:45.9	previous years of our live panel, we did this at the Los Angeles Film School and we would
1:50.4	sell out the theater and do things in front of everybody live. And it was a blast and I miss
